My Best Nine from 2019
Happy New Year and welcome to 2020!
As we head into a new year I always like to take time to reflect on the past year and make my plans for the year ahead. As a passionate creator I certainly don’t find it easy to stop or even slow down. But one thing I’ve learnt over the past decade is to flow with the seasons, both the natural cycle of the year and the inevitable ups and downs of my business.
In recent years I’ve enjoyed seeing what my Best Nine of the year is.
#bestnine is a fascinating way to see what have been my most popular Instagram post from the past year.
Here are mine!
I added the vibrant yellow glaze to my Sea & Cliffs Collection this year and it has certainly brought a touch of joy as it has become a bestseller!
A highlight of my year was taking part in Diaspora at The New Ashgate Gallery in Farnham as you can see by the photo of me in the bottom left corner.
The Diaspora exhibition was curated by Rachel Oteng-Lartey and it was thanks to Instagram that she saw my work and invited me to take part in this exciting group show which brought together artists of African and Caribbean descent from across the country.
In September I took part in The Whitegold Festival of Clay in St Austell. I had a great time, despite the rain! I hadn’t realised what a great backdrop I had behind me. Thanks to Chris Small for the photos. You can see more about my time at The Whitegold Festival here>>>
The year ended on a high as I exhibited at Beside the Wave Gallery’s gorgeous Christmas show two celebrate their 30th anniversary. I just love how my work was displayed!
I am so excited to see what the next year brings. Be sure to be the first to hear by signing up to my regular emails Studio Notes below.
